About the event
‘Things fall apart; the centre cannot hold’ or not? ‘Mere anarchy is loosed upon the world’ perhaps not yet.
Let us find out as Nigerian Youths in the Netherlands (NYN) holds it very first edition of a book discussion and invites both book lovers and amateurs to share their thoughts on the proverbs, idioms and wise sayings which feature prominently in Chinua Achebe’s debut novel – Things Fall Apart, published in 1958.
Join us at the Openbare Bibliotheek Amsterdam (OBA) on Saturday, March 2nd, 2024 from 11.30 –13.00 hours, as we journey to Umuofia village and sit together with the elders to explore their expressions and wise-sayings. Remember, ‘proverbs are the palm oil with which words are eaten’.
